Day 1 Cusco - Santa María: Bicycle 55km (Optional Rafting: $25 USD from April -Nov) After the pick up from the Lorenzo Expeditions office at 6:00 a.m. (one day before the tour, please visit our Cusco office: Suecia 368-C, to make all the arrangements and pay in cash). We will go to Lorenzo Lodge where we will have the first breakfast, then we will go in a private car (02.30 Min) to the Abra Málaga (4,350 masl), the starting point of our bicycle tour, after a briefing by our guide, we will will provide the passenger with the most complete equipment for this type of activity. We will begin the descent by bicycle for 3 hours (55 km) to the town of Huamanmarca where we will have our first lunch. Then we will go to the town of Santa María where we will spend our first night in a basic lodging, during the trip we will experience the beauty of the snow-capped mountains, quickly changing from dry and cold weather to hot humid. Once we arrive in Santa María we will have the option of doing class III and IV rafting (extra tour) in the Urubamba river that crosses this part of the jungle.
Day 2 Santa María - Santa Teresa: Trekking (23 km) After a rich breakfast, at 6:30 a.m. approx. We will be ready to do the first day of trekking towards Santa Teresa. The first two hours of our tour will be uphill, along the way we will have several stops to learn a little more about the wealth of flora and fauna in the area where we will find ourselves, one of them will be at a family home where we We will relax for about 20 minutes here we can also stock up on water and some delicious tropical fruits from the area, later we will cross a section of the Inca Trail that formerly connected the sacred city of the Incas Machupicchu with the city of Vilcabamba here our guide will explain a little to us more about the history of the Incas and also the communication system they had in those times, at this point we will also have some of the most impressive views of the entire Huancarccasa canyon, then we will descend to the town of Quellomayo where we will stop for lunch, after a delicious lunch and a restful rest in the hammocks of our restaurant we will continue with the last 02 hours of walking to the he thermal baths of Cocalmayo where we will have a good time to enjoy this very special place, after the thermal baths we will go to our final destination, the town of Santa Teresa, where we will spend our second night in a basic lodging. Day 3 Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes: Trekking 16km (Zip Line Canopy-Opcional: $25 USD) After our breakfast, at 7:00 a.m. approx. We will start the trekking towards the town of Aguas Calientes, first we will walk for 3 hours through the Aobamba valley to the sector called Intihuatana where we will pass a small government checkpoint, then we will continue to Inka Rakay where we will enjoy our lunch, on this journey we will see a series of waterfalls and we will also have the opportunity to contemplate the majestic Machupicchu and Haynapicchu mountains as well as the Intihuatana or solar clock that will be seen at the top of the mountain and other constructions of the Inca citadel of Machupicchu, then the last 2 hours of walking will be next to the railway line to the town of Aguas Calientes. Day 4 Machupicchu This is the most important day of the tour, the day we will arrive at one of the 7 wonders of the world, our last day of the tour starts very early to appreciate the sunrise in the Inka citadel of Machupicchu, we will start the climb at 4 :30 a.m. this will be 01 hour and a half walk to the citadel of Machupicchu and we will have a tour with our guide for 02 hours through the most important buildings and temples of this city, then you will have time to explore Machupicchu on your own and perhaps climb Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain (previous reservation two months in advance plus $15. There are only 400 spaces per day) and other places of interest. Later it will be the return to the town of Aguas Calientes to be able to take the return train to Ollanta or Cusco.
